About me
Ciao, I'm Ginevra!
I'm Italian, born and raised in Rome, but I'm actually half British as well, as you might have figured by my last name.
I'm currently based in Campinas (São Paulo), Brazil, enjoying the all-year-round warm weather and drinking Caipirinhas while listening to Bossa Nova - of course still honoring my roman roots by cooking Carbonara and Amatriciana at home - yes, I eat Pasta every day.
My favorite hobby has always been web and graphic design, which I taught myself. I started designing websites when I was a little 10-years-old geek (Matmice and Frontpage, anyone?), and never stopped since. While working in different roles during my career I developed pages, profiles, web-based systems for the companies I was working at. My awakening as a UX designer happened during my last year at Uni in 2016: when I wrote my thesis with the title "The cognitive aspects of Web Design", something clicked; I simply recognized my way of thinking in what I was studying and I realized how much I loved the subject. Still, as I was already employed, I took some time before taking the leap and dive straight into full-time UX design at the end of 2020. But one thing's for sure: my varied work background led me to my dream career, by equipping me with all of the hard and soft skills of a designer without officially being one.
Prior to becoming a UX Designer, I've been an Executive Assistant, a Business Developer Manager, and a Senior Sales Coordinator, but also a teacher, a waitress, and a barista. Everything I did gave me major insights and experience to be a better designer today!
